Drive Against Prostate Cancer - The Golf Outing

The Drive Against Prostate Cancer golf tournament for 2011 has come and gone. The event held at International Country Club in Fairfax, VA was a resounding success. The course was in great shape and the ICC staff was extremely helpul. The weather Gods listened to our prayers and provided a glorious day...a bit on the warm side for late April, but no one complained. The tournament continues to grow and we are truly making a difference in our fight against prostate cancer in support of ZERO - The Project to End Prostate Cancer.

But it is the tournament sponsors and the people who participate that make the event what it is each and every year. To all of you.....my deepest gratitude and MANY THANKS!!!!!

With everyone's support, the tournament mulligan "program" raised $2,200. Thanks to Shane Ferguson, our long drive champion, and the Tee to Green Challenge we raised another $800. Thanks again Shane!!!! To top it all off, each of the win, place, show teams for the tournament generously contributed back all of their winnings totalling another $1,400. In all with tournament sponsors and individual donations, we have raised nearly $50,000 thus far.

ROBIN SPARROW:

Robin Sparrow is a Director of Project Management Services in Studley's Suburban Washington office. Last year Robin and his co-driver, Robert Grace, finished the 2013 OLOA in the top 20 overall and third in class - thanks Robert!!! Robin also joined the racing ranks in 2012 by competing in the NASA Series Spec 3 for BMWs. Stay tuned to Robin's Blog as he travels the country again raising money for ZERO - The End of Prostate Cancer during the 2014 Tire Rack One Lap of America / Drive Against Prostate Cancer!

WOODY HAIR:

Old fart, hot shoe use to be, generally all around good egg. Woody hails from Arlington, Virginia - his life long home. Woody is the former HPDE Champion of North America. He has also won numerous SCCA, NASA, and BMW National Capitol Chapter autocross events. This is Woody's 12th One Lap of America.
