High Pressure Fuel Pump #4

Okay - so we left off the other evening with the car back in my hands and running fine for two months. A little over 3 weeks ago, the car was having a hard time firing at a dead cold start. I took the 335 in to my new favorite BMW dealership (Passport BMW) and after a diagnosis it was determined that the high pressure fuel pump was going bad. That makes number 4 for this car. Still under warranty though!

BMW has had a horrible track record with this particular piece of engineering. In fact, my better half owns a 335 and the high pressure fuel pump has been replaced once on that vehicle as well.

The car is currently at RRT Racing's shop - www.rrtracing.com - where it is getting a four point roll bar and race seat installed along with its normal one lap prep work. We should have pictures up on RRT's website within the next two or three days. Hope everyone takes a look!

ROBIN SPARROW:

Robin Sparrow is a Director of Project Management Services in Studley's Suburban Washington office. Last year Robin and his co-driver, Robert Grace, finished the 2013 OLOA in the top 20 overall and third in class - thanks Robert!!! Robin also joined the racing ranks in 2012 by competing in the NASA Series Spec 3 for BMWs.
